Chrysler Repair: 2.5L V-6: crankshaft damper removal; access to use puller?, drive belts, splash shield

Question
I have to do work on the timing belt on a 95 dodge stratus. I had no problem getting the bolt out but the pulley itself WILL NOT come off of the engine...
i have a puller but the fender well comes down about an inch or two too low for me to fit the puller onto the damper correctly.. is there any way to get the puller on there without taking off the fender?

Answer
Hi Liam,
There is a removable inner panel on the fender (between the tire and the front of the engine) called the accessory drive belt splash shield which keeps road water from striking the drive belts. It is held by a combination of push in fasteners (I believe it has a center hole which if you push-in with a tine allows it to be removed) and screws mating with snap nuts on the sheet metal edge. Once you remove the splash shield you will have full access for the puller.
I wish you success with the project.
