Chrysler Repair: Removing starter: 2.5L V-6,1995 Chrysler Cirrus, chrysler cirrus, 1995 chrysler cirrus

Question
How do I remove and replace a starter. The car is a 3.5l 6cyl. I can see 2 bolts and have loosened them, what else is involved?

Answer
Hi Kevin,
There are a couple of points to note:
There are three bolts that attach the starter to the transmission housing to remove, and you have to remove the oil filter to get the starter motor out. Disconnect the - post cable from the battery to begin, then remove the nut for the fat wire and the push-on connectors from the solenoid. The bolts should be torqued to 40 foot-pounds.

PS You have a 2.5L V-6, I assume.
