Chrysler Repair: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee ac problem, jeep grand cherokee, performance roland

Question
My vehicle only seems to push cold air on the center and drivers side vents not on the passenger side.  I have checked everything I can so far.  I know about the blend door problem and that seems to work.  I have even gone as far as drilling a hole in the front of the heater box directly behind the glove box so I can see the doors open and close.  I can see the door toward the back which is for the passenger side.  It seems to open and close ok although I cannot be 100% sure something might not be keeping it from closing all the way.  If I switch to heat both sides work fine.  I'm sure the system could be re-charged, could that account for warm air on the passenger side? Is there a diagram somewhere of how the ductwork is layed out?  Thanks

Answer
Hi Rick,
Unfortunately I have to limit myself to the Chrysler/Dodge nameplate vehicles because I haven't owned a Jeep or collected any manuals for that marque. I would suspect that the HVAC systems are similar. You might try removing the acturator for the passenger side blend door and testing mechanically for the full range of motion of that door. Just note the key has to match the slot when you reconnect it.
The closest similar manual I have is for the '98 van. If you found out that it was identical in design to that for the Jeep (ask at the parts counter) I would be pleased to xerox the 40 pages on that subject and postal mail them to you. It would cost me 10 cents per side and approximately $2 for postage. Let me know an address and you can either send me a Paypal or check/stamps.
If you believe the charge is low-normal then getting it fully charged would no doubt improve the overall performance.
