Answer
Hi Chester,
The Sebring coupe manuals I have for '95 and '00 don't show the electrical circuitry for the HVAC system. I will attempt to find out whether the mode door (distributes air as requested) is electrical or not. I suspect it is controlled mechanically by a lever so I would suggest that you examine the control to see if there is cable from the lever to the HVAC unit under the dash that is disconnected. On the lighting of the controls, I would check all the fuses under the dash and look for one labelled to have to do with the HVAC system and if that one or two fuses are OK then I would look at all the fuses to see if you can find one that is broken or cracked. If possible check them for continuity with an ohmmeter as there can be a subtle crack in the fuse wire that you might not see.
Also it is possible that the engine vacuum supply is used to operate the door. So look for a fine vacuum line that branches off from the power brake canister hose and goes thru the firewall about mid-line on the body. If that is what operates the door, then check it to see if it is detached from the canister connection or cracked, or detached from the HVAC unit by looking under the dash for the other end of the vacuum hose. This is not a certainty, but a possibility.
I will let you know when I find more info in those two manuals, but so far they are moot on the electrical supply and the mode door operation.
