Chrysler Repair: Power distribution Center, dodge chrysler, boneyard

Question
I have been told that I need to replace the PDC however, Dodge/Chrysler no longer makes this part and that no dealer in the US has one. Where can I find one outside of the Chrysler network? If I get one from a boneyard, would it be repairable?

Answer
Hi John,
I don't know what car, year, model you have but I am wondering how the PDC is not repairable unless it was burned or physically damaged. In any case I suspect that if you bought one from a bodeyard you could rewire such a used one into your existing car if you did it one wire at a time to be sure that everything was exactly identically placed. The wires should have fitting on their ends which would allow a wire to be remove from the old one and attached into the replacement center.
So I think that is your only alternative if that is indeed the case that the old one is totally shot. If it just one fuse socket or relay socket that is bad you might be able to work around that problem with a jumper connection, for example. So, let me know more if you want to pursue a fix as opposed to a substitution of the entire box. Tell me the history of exactly what circuit(s) aren't working.
