Chrysler Repair: Brake pedal goes to floor, brake warning light, hi matthew

Question
I just started my car and started to drive off. the second time i pressed on my brakes they went all the way down like all the fluid dripped out or something. however I am  not seeing a leak anywhere, i approximately changed my brakes 6 months ago. What could be wrong?

Answer
Hi Matthew,
You didn't mention what car/year/power brake/abs?
Does the brake warning light illuminate when you step on the brake? Did you check the level of brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir? Have you checked the carpeting on the floor under the brake actuation rod attached to the brake pedal for the presence of fluid there? Have you looked at the inside of tires from underneath the car to see if there are signs of fluid on the inner sidewalls?
Do this test:
With the engine running, and the parking brake released,  try pushing VERY SLOWLY on the brake pedal and gradually increase the pressure as it resists your effort and continue pressing harder and harder with both feet and hold for 30 seconds. While you do this test watch for the brake warning light to come on during the process and note whether warning light comes on with moderate, moderate to heavy, of very heavy pressure, or not at all; then release pressure slowly and watch to see whether the light goes off as the pedal is released.
