Answer
Hi Jerry,
It might be the crank sensor, but first try to get the fault code(s) that may be stored in the controller memory. Use the ignition key:"On-off-on-off-on and leave it on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light which remains "on" to begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to be sure you have an accurate set of counts. Then group the counts in pairs in the order of appearance to form the 2-digit fault codes. The code for the crank sensor is 11, for the cam sensor (which you already replaced is 54, but the code will be stale from having been stored before you replaced the distributor. You can erase all the codes except #12 by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. Then try to start it again for a fresh set of fault codes. #55 is always last, it means "end of readout"). You can get a code translation at www.allpar. com/fix/codes.html  Write me back with the codes and we'll go from there. It is good that you noticed no spark as that will help in limiting the search to the ignition system.
