Chrysler Repair: 97 LHS : Low beam headlamps dont work, 1997 chrysler lhs, chrysler lhs

Question
QUESTION: My low beam head lights just stop working, but my high beam is working.  I also have a auto shut off light switch.  What can be the problem?
ANSWER: Hi Clifton,
You need to tell me the year and the model of your car for any specific help. Until I know that I can only guess. It must be fairly new because of the auto shutoff feature. So I'm thinking that if you have checked the fuses and not found any under the dash or in the power distribution box under the hood that are blown or cracked, then I would take a look to see if you have a low beam relay and a high beam relay in the underhood box. If you do, try switching them and then see if you then have lows that work and highs that don't. If that were true, then that relay is no good. I'll wait to learn what year and model you have for specifics.

QUESTION: My car is a 1997 chrysler LHS Concord.  I check the fuses, they are ok. Please let me know something.

Answer
Hi Clifton,
That is important information. Look carefully at fuses #15 and 16 under the dash to make sure they aren't cracked. If you have a voltmeter, check to see if you get voltage to and thru the fuses when you have the headlights on and set to low beam position. If you get voltage to and thru them then your headlamp low beam filaments are both burned out. If you don't get voltage to the fuses then the low beam contact inside the dimmer switch is oxidized and needs to be polished to provide conduction of the voltage to those fuses. Those are the possibilities that I see.
