Chrysler Repair: Town & country motor mounts: 3.3/3.8L, splash shield, lateral position

Question
How do you change out the transmission mount on the '94 3.8 ltr T&C? (That
would be the left mount, yes?

Answer
Hi Michael,
It is fairly easy. Yes the front (of the van) mount is also called the left (of the engine) mount or transmission mount.
Raise the vehicle and remove the left wheel, then remove the splash shield between the engine compartment and the wheel well. You then lower the vehicle until it is level, I suspect, because then you have to take a floor jack or other support mechanism with a wooden block on its top surface and use that to support the transmission in prep to remove the mount. Raise the engine/trans slightly to remove pressure from the mount so it can be removed.
Remove the insulator thru bolt from the mount.
Remove the transmission mount fasteners and remove mount.
Reverse procedure to install new mount. Besure the slide tube is seated in the guides of the bracket. Leave the thru bolt loose to adjust the lateral position of the engine, then tighten it.
The thru bolt is tightened to 50 foot-pounds
The other bolts are tightened to 40 foot-pounds.
Then remove support, replace splash shield and wheel.
That is about it.
