Chrysler Repair: 1997 CHRYSLER CONCORDE-NO HEAT, chrysler concorde lxi, 1997 chrysler concorde

Question
HI ROLAND, I HAVE A 97 CHRYSLER CONCORDE LXI WITH AUTO TEMP CONTROLS, THE SYSTEM ONLY BLOWS COLD AIR ALL THE TIME.
I REPLACED THE BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR, ALL FUSES ARE OK, BOTH HOSES AT THE FIREWALL ARE HOT, ATC UNIT DOES NOT SHOW ANY TROUBLE CODES,THERMOSTAT WAS REPLACED AND IS OK.CAN YOU ADVISE AS WHAT MAY BE THE PROBLEM? PS: THE ENGINE WAS RECENTLY REPLACED, COULD THE MECHS HAVE CONNECTED SOMTHING INCORRECTLY?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
JAY

Answer
Hi Jay,
It sounds like you covered all the possible causes for no heat. When the blend door actuator was replaced did you happen to check the door motion to see what it felt like?
The interconnect is via a torx-like head and socket so you might want to try removing the actuator and trying to move it yourself to see if it might be jammed or is spinning freely.
Are you sure the ATC is actually doing the fault code test?
Do the lights on the control blink and do you hear doors moving when the test is underway? There should be a fault code numbers (23,32) were there something the matter with the blend door but you never know how intelligent these units are to various possibilities.
There is supposed to be an engine temp sensor signal to the ATC via the digital data bus. Perhaps your coolant temp signal wire is disconnected (tan/black) between the sensor and pin 2 of the 60-way at the plug or the sensor might not be accurate:7,000 to 14,000 ohms at 70F, 700-1000 ohms at 200F.
Those are my only ideas. Let me know if they help/you find another reason.
