Chrysler Repair: 1992 Lebaron No High Beams, electric fuel pump, high beams

Question
This is a follow up to a March 5th question. When I activate the dimmer switch, the low beams shut off.  In troubleshooting the dashboard mounted turn signal and dimmer switch, I think I have found a bad ground.  Is Pin #10 the ground for the dimmer switch?  And where does the wire for pin #10 go--to the fuse block or one of the 13 relays behind the left kick panel or somewhere else?  Also is a noisy electric fuel pump telling me its days are numbered.  Thanks.  TG

Answer
Hi Tim,
No, the pin on the left pod switch that grounds it is #13 with a black/orange wire. I don't think that is your problem because the entire switch acts through that ground connection (goes to the left cowl wall) so nothing would work right if that were the case. The high beam relay's activation coil is what the switch grounds when you ask for high beams. So I would pull the relay (to take the voltage off the other end of the coil) then set an ohmmeter between the forward most pin in socket and ground. It should read infinite until you put the switch to the high beam position at which time it should read 0 ohms. If it does that then the switch is ok. Then check that there is 12v on top pin of the socket. If there is, and the relay clicks when you ask for the highs, then fuses 19 and 20 are blown or the relay contacts are bad, or the wire from the relay to those fuses is bad. If it doesn't click then the relay is bad. Try switching it with the low bear relay as a test.
My diagrams show  pin #10 is an orange wire for the pod illumination.
I can't tell you for sure about the noise from the pump.
