Chrysler Repair: air tube on cat converter, cat converter, air tube

the air tube got torn away from the cat. converter(torn loose not off). will this make the check engine light come on and can it be welded back on?

You didn't tell me what engine you have there so I have difficulty in researching this question. Is there another name for the 'air tube' or its function that you can tell me? If we are talking about a metal tube, then I would believe that a good independent exhaust system shop welder would be able to repair it. So look in your local phone book for such a shop where they have the skills to weld and aren't part of a large chain operation that specializes in selling parts/systems rather than diagnosing and repair.
