Chrysler Repair: 1999 cirrus thermostat location, radiator hose, thermostat

i have a 1999 cirrus and it needs to have the thermostat replaced.  Is the thermostat located in the metal housing that connects the bottom hose to the block?  If I remember right the thermostat was always located on the top of the block connecting the top hose to the radiator.  I know its a simple question but I would much rather know the location then guessing and hoping.  thanks for the help,

Hi Jim,
If you are speaking of the 2.5 V-6 the top radiator hose will lead you to it, on the upper part of the front of the engine. It is part of a fairly large horizontal manifold, but the thermostat is under the upper hose hemisperical housing in any case. It is also high up on the 2.0 and 2.4L engines, but again the upper hose will show you the way.
If you have a different engine than those 3 let me know.
