Chrysler Repair: 1999 jeep grand cherokee limited, jeep grand cherokee, radiator grille

QUESTION: alberta, canada
engine size 4.7l, v8
my question is in regards to the location of the outside temperature thermistor as the overhead console displays open circuit and i cannot seem to find where the outside temperature is taken from.

possibly loose wire or bad connection no fuse blown need to trace the line.

ANSWER: REMOVAL
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
Locate the ambient temperature sensor, on the right side of the radiator opening in the headlamp mounting module, behind the grille Ambient Temperature Sensor Remove/Install
Remove the radiator grille fascia and insert from the headlamp mounting module. Refer to Grille in the Removal and Installation section of Group 23 - Body for the procedures.
Disconnect the wire harness connector from the ambient temperature sensor connector receptacle.
Remove the one screw that secures the ambient temperature sensor bracket to the headlamp mounting module.
Remove the ambient temperature sensor from the headlamp mounting module

QUESTION: thanks for the reply
i did already replace the ambient temp sensor the way you described above, it is still showing open circuit on the overhead console any other suggestions as to what might be causing this

the info that u see on the over head is info that is bussed over a network from the body computer. With out an expensive scanner or a Chrysler scanner i cant tell u if the computer is seeing the sensor input or not. U are pretty much out of luck until u can get that stuff check out by a pro.
