Chrysler Repair: 95 Concorde: Misses at high speed, ground wire disconnected, speed ground, happy holidays

Question
car cuts out once in a while at speeds between 60-70 it doesn't do it any other time.replaced fuel filter it still doing it i found a ground wire hanging from the drivers side its hooked to the frame but not to anything else where does this wire go?its located around the middle of the moter.could this be my problem?

Answer
Hi Shawn,
On the ground wire, if it is a thick black wire it is supposed to go to the clamp at the - post of the battery. It is the body ground return wire so everything that relies on the body to return the current is supposed to pass from the frame back to the battery. Another pathway by the engine is doing the job. So hook it up to the battery clamp bolt and see if it helps.
Other possible causes of high speed miss include a faulty coil or too widely gapped spark plugs. Another possibility is a partially obstructed exhaust system, possibly the catalytic converter honeycomb is plugged or off-axis.
I hope these suggestions help you .
Happy holidays,
Roland
