Chrysler Repair: abs brakes 1992 plymouth voyager, plymouth voyager, tone wheel

the brakes pedal has become hard to push 2 feet are required with much lesser results. I was told by the local dealer that the abs controller may have failed or the van has something wrong in the wires (no communications between controller and 1 wheel). Everything I have read tells me its the hydraulic unit. the diagnosis they have given me makes no sense. would a faulty wire or faulty controller cause the condition of a hard pedal. the brakes work normally off and on.

Yes.In a bendix 10 system,which I believe you have.Check with your local dealer to see if your recall on it is still valid.Heres another thing that can cause a comm. failure with one wheel.A cracked tone wheel on the cv joint.Very common.Would cause intermitten brake problems.
