Chrysler Repair: starting, valve cover gasket, rear valve

Question
Wil:
one more for you. 89 chry 3.0L auto. A few day ago I replace the rear valve cover gasket, I had to remove the alternator and disconnect the plug wires, also the harness and of course the air filter and container. After all was done I cranked it over and it wouldn't start I rechecked to make sure that I had connected everything, sure enough and now it takes quiet a while before it will kick over, but once it dose start it will start right up if you don't let it set to long. But the first start of the day, I've found that if I press on the gas pedal it will start right up and if I don't let it set to long (ten-fifteen min) it will kick right over without pressing on the gas pedal.any ideas

Answer
O K try this .....when you are starting for the first time in the morning, turn the key on off on off on off then start. If it starts normally (the way it should, not the way it has been)then you are losing pressure in the fuel system.I don't there is a regulator in the rail so the repair would be replacing the fuel pump.
