Chrysler Repair: cam shaft sensor 03 neon, camshaft position sensor, engine coolant

Question
Sir I had previously ask Roland the procedure to replace the cam shaft sensor on a 2003 Dodge neon with the 2.0  sohc engine. below is his response and I wanted to know if you could do it without these steps and just take out the 4 screws and disconnect wire. If not when you disconnect filter air tube do you just pull on it or do you have to unscrew the nut and where do you disconnect the brake booster hose ? there is a tube joining the two pieces of hose and do you just pull that apart.
I also notice that there is some oil build up on the old cm shaft sensor moreso on the bottom than the top. is this normal and is there more than one gasket/o ring because with the new sensor there was a very small green gasket that goes in the center of sensor is there suposd to be another bigger one? Bobby

Answer   Hi Bobby,
Let me type-in the procedure:
The camshaft position sensor is mounted to the rear of the cylinder head.
Disconnect the filtered air tube from the throttle body and air cleaner housing. Remove filtered air tube.
Remove the air cleaner inlet tube.
Disconnect electrical connector from  engine coolant sensor and camshaft position sensor.
Remove brake booster hose and electrical connector from holders on end of cylinder head cover.
Remove camshaft position sensor mounting screws. Remove sensor.
Remove screw holding target magnet to end of canshaft.
(I don't know if this is necessary or not. You may not get a replacement magnet with the sensor.)

The magnet has two locating dowels that fit into holes on the end of the camshaft.
Install magnet to end of camshaft. Tighten screw to 50 inch-ponds of torque.
Install camshaft position sensor. Tighten mounting screws to 80 inch-pounds of torque
Place brake booster hose and electrical harness to holders on end of valve cover.
Attach electrical connectors to coolant temperature and camshaft position sensors.
Install air cleaner inlet tube and filtered air tube.
That is it.
Thanks for the kind evaluation.

Answer
If you can get to that without doing all the steps,go for it.I'm Roland is quoting from a manual. But I have never seen or replaced a magnet on the camshaft. They must never go bad.The seal that should have come with the sensor should be the size of a small rubber band 1 1/2 diamiter
