Chrysler Repair: 03 Town and Country power steering, synthetic transmission fluid, bleeding brakes

Question
First of all, thanks for this forum.  It really helps the Saturday mechanics like me.  My 03 T&C has a power steering whine that comes and goes.  About 20K miles ago, I had "flushed" out the power steering reservoir by sucking out the old fluid, putting in new, driving for a short while and repeating the process.  Over the last several weeks, I've noticed a whine from the pump that comes and goes. Tonight I did the suck, fill, drive, repeat, again and it seems to have stopped for now.
Two questions:  1)  Am I on the verge of needing new pump?   2)  I refilled the pump reservoir with a synthetic transmission fluid.  Can I use the tranny fluid in the power steering system?

Answer
Chrysler has switched over to using trans fluid. There are a few service bulletins on power steering from chrysler.Maybe you can do a search on them.I can give you an overview.1 is changing the resevoir to an updated one.2 is rerouting to cooler line.3 the one that fixes the most...Bleeding the air from the system.Using a mityvac with a fluid chamber like for bleeding brakes.Use it to suck the air out.
