Chrysler Repair: No Start: no spark, but has fuel pressure, 3.0L engine, chrysler sebring, primary resistance

Question
I have a 95 chrysler sebring it cranks over but it doesnt fire, checked it has no spark, took it to the shop they did some kind of testing and told me that it has fuel pressure but no spark, mechanic told since he cannot retrieve the code it has something to do with ECU.

Answer
Hi Anatoliy,
Try to get the codes yourself;
Use the ignition key: "On-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing this is 5 seconds or less. The check engine light should remain "on" and then begin to flash, pause, flash, pause, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause, then repeat the procedure to make sure you have the correct numbers. Pair the numbers in order they read out to form two digit numbers. The last number is always 55 because it means "end of readout". Then either write back or go to: www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html for a translation.
If you have the fuel pump working, it suggests that the signal for the spark that comes from the distributor is getting to the engine controller and is being processed to sustain the fuel pump's operation. So it could either be the autoshutdown relay has failed or the ignition coil or rotor has failed. You can check the ASD by removing the plug on the ignition coil and measuring whether you are getting 12V on the upright contact of the "T" pair of contacts (not the cross piece) when you are cranking it. If so, then I would focus on the coil and rotor. But check the controller by measuring the resistance to ground of the cross piece of the "T" to see if it switches back and forth when you are cranking, between O ohms and a higher reading. It should do that. Finally, see if the primary resistance of the coil to ground is about 1 oum and the spark tower resistance to ground is 8,000 to 15,000 ohms. Also check that there is conductivity between the spring tip and the moving tip of the rotor located inside the distributor.
