Chrysler Repair: 00 Sebring Shakes When Braking, cv boot, rear wheels

Question
Hi Roland,
I have replaced brake pads, rotors, tires, and had an alignment, but the problem still exists.  When applying brakes, the steering wheel and frontend shake - only when braking.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Randy,
I would check both the surfaces of each rotor to determine whether there is some grease or other foreign matter on the surface (such as cv-boot that is torn and allowing grease to spin out onto the brake parts or a caliper is leaking brake fluid onto the surface. Wipe surface with a new paper towel to detect what is on the surface). Also, try stopping by using the parking brake only to verify that the problem is not with the rear wheels (where the parking brake is applied). Other than that, the push rod on the master or booster cylinder may not be adjusted properly but that is a long shot that would be something a brake mechanic might be able to determine.
