Chrysler Repair: 95 Cirrus Rear Speaker wiring question, 6x9 speakers, speacker

Question
I im installing aftermarket 6X9 speakers into my cirrus. There are 4 wires leading to each rear speacker (I assume crossed over at the amp) but my aftermarkets only have 2 wires. Which wires should I tie into.

Answer
Hi Dave,
The original set up is for speakers that have two separate cones and voices coils, one covering low frequencies and one covering high frequencies. I am not certain that you can get the full frequency range out of a single voice coil speaker. It may be the case that if you doubled up on the wires that it would work fairly well in putting out the full sound sprectrum. So then the main point would be how to choose the wires. You would want to put the "+" wires on one post and the "-" wires on the other post, amd observe the same assignment pattern on both speakers so that the low frequency sound waves from the two speakers will reinforce rather than cancel.
Rather than list the color codes of all 8 wires, if the factory plugs are still attached to the wires, all you need to do is combine wires 1 and 3 at one post, and 2 and 4 at the other post of each speaker, using the identical post configuration between the speakers. If the plugs have been removed, then on the right combine the red and violet at one post and the black and dark green at the other post; at the left speaker do the same.
Please let me know how it sounds.
