Chrysler Repair: power locks/interior lights flickering while driving, automatic door locks, door latch

Question
WHEN IAM DRIVIVG MY POWER LOCKS AND INTERIOR KEEP LOCKING AND UNLOCKING AND LIGHT KEEP FLICKERING ON AND OFF. IS THERE A SHORT SOMEWHERE? IS THERE A RELAY THAT CONTROLS BOTH?

Answer
Hi Alex,
Actually the cause of this is not a relay but rather one of the door ajar sensors that is falsely telling the body computer that one of your doors is opened slightly. The reason is probably that the door latch striker plate is out of adjustment. It is probably the driver door, but all you need to do is lock all the doors from the inside, then push against each one from the inside the car and find the one that causes the interior lights to come on. Then open that door and move the striker plate on the door frame inboard a bit until it won't cause the lights to come on. That should prevent it from happening while driving. The same sensor tells the automatic door locks to open and close when the car is in motion, so that problem should also be solved. If moving the door plate doesn't solve it, then the ajar switch needs to be shimmed outboard so as to close more reliably.
