Chrysler Repair: Charging failure 87 New Yorker, chrysler new yorker, logic module

Question
"87" Chrysler New Yorker  with 85 K use.  Well maintained.
2.2 L Turbo engine (remanufactured) 11K use since installation.

Had a charging failure as indicated on the instrument cluster.  Engine starts and runs fine, although off the battery. The illuminated dash display looks dimmer and if I turn the lights on while the engine is running they barely illuminate.  Turn signals and horn barely register.
The battery tests fine at Autozone, and I installed a remanufactured 90 amp Bosch Alternator. Still no charging.  A volt meter reads a bit under 12 volts across the terminals with engine running. The Fault Code taken off the "power loss" lamp just reads 12 indicating that the logic module was disconnected from the battery.  No other code.
I ordered a remanufactured Logic Module from Napa a few days ago and was going to hook it up to see if that corrects the problem.  If not I can return the module for credit. Beyond this, I'm stumped.   Then its off to find a repair shop for diagnostics, if I can find a shop to take the job...any thoughts?

Answer
Hi Ralph,
The absence of a code is strange given the low voltage output from the alternator. I would have expected a problem with the field coils of the alternator (code 41) which are oscillated to provide an output of around 14.5 volts or a problem with low voltage (1 volt below design level,  code 47). With only 12V that should have set one of the codes for the charging circuit. So I would see if the remanu. logic module fixes it. Maybe Autozone will check their remanu alternator at no cost. Alternators have been known to not function after a "rebuild".
