Chrysler Repair: 1988 Chrysler New Yorker, ebay auction, wheel drive vehicles

Question
I came across a gorgous 1988 Chrysler New Yorker, 2.2 Turbo at an insurance auction with a broken tail light. (85000 miles). This is a one owner, always garaged vehicle. I'd like to fing a service manual for it. I'll be glad to send you a photo.

Answer
Hi Arnold,
I tried to reach you yesterday when I saw an '88 manual set for bid on eBay but the auction ended too soon. However, no one bid on it so I would try to contact the seller and offer the $15 asking opening bid and see if he will sell it to you for that ( +$6.50 shipping). There is a good chance he would see it to you based on my experience with items that recieve no bids.
Good luck!

Hi Arnold,
That sounds like a wonderful car.
The best source for a service manual for an '88 is the eBay auction. I would just do a search for 'Chrysler 1988 service manual' and for 'Chrysler 1988 shop manual' and book mark these two search url's so that once a week you can see if anything like that is offered with the touch of a button. There are three volumes in the set, and you would want it to be the set for front wheel drive vehicles because those are separate from the rear wheel drive set. There are some commercial vendors that are overpriced from my point of view. I believe you should be able to get a set for under $20 from an individual, and maybe you can accumulate the three volumes piecemeal for $8 each if you see them offered that way over a period of time. Also a set for '89 would do about as well, but don't stray any further than that.
Good luck with the new wheels.
