Chrysler Repair: A/C plus RPM gauge, chrysler sebring convertible, chrysler jeep dodge

Question
Chrysler Sebring convertible, 1996, 6 cylinders. The RPM gauge, A/C, and Speed gauge are not working.
Sometimes on a rough road all gauges and A/C start working, but only for some time?
Appreciate solving solution.

Answer
There's been quite a few problems with the instrument clusters on nearly all of Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge's products.  Sometimes unplugging the MIC (mechanical instrument cluster) and plugging it back in will get it to go back to working.  Other times complete replacement is the only way to get the cluster to go back to working.

As far as the A/C goes that's kind of a different ballgame.  It's tied in to some of the same components as the MIC but operation of the two don't normally fail at the same time.  Could the dash have been removed at some point on this vehicle?  There's about 4-6 main connectors that share alot of wires and maybe one that's not fully fastened has just enough movement to make these components not work.

I'm going to venture a guess to say that you've got a bad MIC and there is also something wrong with your A/C.  But it is kind of hard to diagnose something without more specific information that may only come from a scan tool read out.
