Chrysler Repair: horn/cig. lighter/dash lights/tail lights, don t work, chrysler new yorker, inner fender

Question
i did something stupid, not knowing my remote wire, from my amp, was spliced open when i hid it under the side floor panel. I tried to connect it to a fuse and put it in the fuse slot of my horn/cig. lighter. now it does  not work. How do I fix this? There are no blown fuses in the fuse box. I tried it again in the next slot too, which  is the illumination slot. I have a 94 chrysler new yorker. no tail lights is a problem for me and need to fix them asap. your help would be appreciated tremendously.  ty,  jason

Answer
Hi Jason,
Are you aware that there are also fuses under the hood in the power distribution center that is located behind the battery next to the inner fender? I would look at Fuse F (20 or 40 amp) which feeds power to the underdash fuses #8 and #9 which is where you did your splicing that resulted in the loss of power. The underdash fuses may be o.k. but their sockets are not getting a voltage supply from fuse socket F in the power distribution center under the hood because that fuse is blown.
Let me know what you find to be the situation and if this doesn't fix your problems.
