Land Rover Repair: Service Engine light, big 10 tires, autologic

Is there a way I can turn off the service engine light on my 1996 Range Rover without going to the dealership? I know it's just an emissions job they automatically have come on every so often.
I took it to Big 10 TIRES and the guy said their were no fault codes coming up however he could only deal with the check engine light and not the service engine light. Any suggestions?

There is no way to reset the service light on a 96 Range Rover without the special LR test system.  To find alternatives to the dealer look at www.rangerovers.net - perhaps you can find an independent with proper tools (autologic or t4) in driving distance
