Chrysler Repair: raising the convertible top, chrysler lebaron, lebaron convertible

My 1993 LeBaron convertible is having a problem raising the top.  You can hear the motor working but I need to aid the top by hand to get it to come up.  I have located the hydrolic motor but do not know how to refill it, if that is possible.

Hi Don,
I have the coupe body LeBaron so haven't actually seen the hydraulic pump which is driven by the motor. But the shop manual says there is a reservoir, probably on the pump body?, and that if you open a lid and fill it with dexron II,type A that will be sure that you have sufficient fluid. If you can't find the reservoir and lid, then I would suggest that you sign-up at Yahoo Auto Group called "the Chrysler LeBaron Club" and post the question asking for a de
tailed description of how to find the lid for filling. Most of the 1700 member own the convertible and you will get an answer quickly.
