Chrysler Repair: Airbag, highway traffic safety, traffic safety administration

Question
Hi Roland
I have plymouth grand of the 1997,
My air bag light came on. In addition, my horn and cruise control (both on the steering wheel) don't work. Do you have any ideas on what I can do short of going to the dealer? (I already checked the fuses...they're fine), the lights on the climate control panel started flashing at me too,I find out that I could reset by holding down two of the buttons. It goes through a sequence of tests, but untimately ends up with 2 lights flashing. Can i get som help. The most intresting thing with all of this is that i have a friend who have chrysler voyager 98 and having the same problem.
with my regards
Abdelrahman

Answer
Hi Abdelrahman,
I have good news for you and your friend. There appears to be a defective clockspring in the vans for these model years and so the corporation agreed to replace them in agreement with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (recall # 02V293000). So you should be able to go to any Chrysler dealer and get the clockspring replaced at no cost.
