Chrysler Repair: speed sensors, plymouth voyager, speed sensors

Question
I have a 96 plymouth voyager with a 3 speed transmission and would like to know where the speed sensors are located so i can change them there is nothing visible on the trannsmission housing PLEASE help me

Answer
Hi Craig,
The 3-speed auto. is not electronic so there are no speed sensors on it. There is a "distance" sensor on the top of the housing from which the half shafts are driven, called the transaxle extension housing, and that is the sensor that the engine controller uses as well as the odometer/speedometer for their operation. But there are no sensors of the type used in the 4-speed automatic. I would not be unhappy about this because the 3-speed auto has fewer issues and is less costly to repair.
