Hi,
i have a 1997 3.8 LXI grand voyager, if i removed the fuel pump and ground out on the earth pin and put a direct live to positive should the pump work at the moment the pump is dead.

Tom

Answer
Hi Tom,
I only have the Haynes manual to go by ('96-99 van), and I notice in the wiring diagram that the module has 3 wires that are related to the pump motor, so take a look for these at the plug for these pin positions:
dark green/white is the 12V from the relay for the pump
black is the ground
dark blue which is attached to the body control module and is the float level.
There might be a fourth wire, a separate ground for the fuel float circuit.
On the '94 3.8L wiring diagrams that I also have it shows there to be a 5-pin plug for the module with the two outermost pins (1 and 5) being the ones for the pump motor.
I agree with you that it should run with the jumpers, but be sure to evaluate the ground to be a clean ground to the -post of the battery (close to 0 ohms continuity test). I only made a point of that in the first response because I believe that you said it was heard to run when it was plugged in to the normal wiring plug. It should run for about 1 second with the normal hook up, after you turn the ignition key to the "run" position. If it doesn't work  either jumpered (continuously) or normally connected (for 1 second) then it is bad.
