Chrysler Repair: sebring halfshaft and speed sensor, car parts store, haynes manual

can u please tell me how to remove the halfshafts on a 96 sebring i have them out of the tranny but the back side of the shaft will not go though the small opening do u have to remove the back half of the shaft and also how do u remove the speed sensor cable from the hub with out wrecking it thanks brad

Hi Brad,
I haven't personally worked on a Sebring half axle. I do have the '95 Chrysler shop manual for the car which shows how to do it which includes some disassembly of the steering knuckle/bearing housing/tie rod/etc. I would either: see if you can get a Haynes Manual from a car parts store or the Chrysler shop manual at a library nearby to you for the specifics. If that is not practical, the best I can offer is to xerox copy the pages and snail mail them to you today. Similarly, the ABS Sensor would be better understood if you had the manual pages. So let me know if you want me to do copying and mailing. I would only request that you send me back some postage stamps to cover the copying (4 cents per page side and postage costs to send it to you).
