How do I manually shut off my security alarm because sometimes when you open the passenger side door without the drivers side door the alarm goes off and I have no idea how to turn it off. 1996 Chrysler Sebring LXI

Hi Tad,
If you are asking what to do if the alarm goes off because you have opened the passenger door, then if you will go around and unlock the driver's door with the key that should stop the alarm. If you are asking how to avoid setting the alarm in the first place, then I believe if you manually lock the doors as you exit you will avoid arming the theft system. Let me know if this is not the question you wanted answered. It is not easy to disable the system entirely because it is a part of the body computer, and cannot be simply unplugged without causing an issue with some other system. So just don't use the power door locks or the key or the remote keyless entry when you lock the car; rather just set the locks by the manual lock tabs as you exit the car
