Chrysler Repair: Electrical, power door locks, amp fuse

Question
Hi Roland:
My power windows stopped working, all of them on my 99 300M. I checked the circuit breaker (located in the fuse box) and it was okay; however, when I checked the socket (where the breaker fits) there was no power with the key turned on. There should be power to this breaker when the key is on.

I am guessing the problem is located in the power distribution box (where the fuses and breakers plug in). Have you heard about any problems in this area of the 300M? And, what is the likelyhood the power distribution box is the problem, since I did isolated the problem to this area?
Thanks!

Answer
Hi Jim,
That circuit breaker is probably powered by a 40 amp fuse J in the power distribution center. It should also power the blower motor and the power door locks, but mediated by the ignition switch as you suggested (input from the fuse to the ignition switch is a pink/black wire at pin 10, then check pin 7 of the ignition switch to see if the voltage is there when in the run position). It should arrive at the fuse block on a black/orange wire. I don't have the full wiring diagrams for the '99 300M but am basing this on the Haynes '94-97 LHS manual. The fuse designations may be different but I think the wire colors are probably correct.
So see if you can trace out this circuit and find where it is breaking down.
