Answer
Hi Jaime,
About the only thing that I can think of that would explain why the PCM is now acting that way has to do with the Vehicle Theft Security System. If his car has that system and by chance he was trying to diagnose or service his VTSS module and he removed it while your PCM was plugged in then your PCM will be modified to prevent the car from re-starting. The only safe way to remove the VTSS module is to unplug it while the engine is running, otherwise it will be interpreted by the PCM as an attempted theft of the car and the PCM is consequently disabled. I believe the only way to reprogram it is to take it to a dealer and have them reprogram it with a Diagnostic Readout Box. But ask your friend if he has the VTSS system and what if anything was done to the car while your PCM was plugged in.
There may be some other explanation*, but this one sounds to me to be the most plausible. Let me know, please, what you needed to do to correct the PCM after you get it right again. I know that the PCM is reprogrammable with the DRB tool.

*Maybe there is an incomatibility between PCM's used in cars with, as compared to without, the VTSS and so just using the wrong PCM may cause the disabling to occur, for example.
