Chrysler Repair: Radio display illumination., external power source, radio voltage

Question
I currently drive a 1998 Grand Voyager 3.3 LE.  After the car had been in for its transmission to be overhauled (it was in limp mode, something to do with switch solenoids?) I recieved it back but now the display on the radio willnot illuminate.  All of the other interior dash lights work as well as all of the illuminated buttons on the radio, but not the display.  You can still use the fader dial to alter the brightness of these lights but nothing will turn on the display.

Its possibly is nothing to do with the transmission problem that was sorted, but if this could have affected it then i will go back. (Especially since it cost me over £1300 to get it sorted)

Thanks in anticipation of a helpfull reply.

Kev.

Answer
Hi Kev,
As far as I know, there is no separate external power source exclusively assigned to the digital display on the radio. It is more likely an internal radio voltage supply problem. There are of course illumination controls on some of the lights at the radio, but there is no similar power line to the radio for the display proper. Those internal supplies are sometimes very dependent upon a minimal voltage level to be present, so it may come and go from time to time. So I don't think it is related to the trans repair.
