Chrysler Repair: Body control module, rear window defogger, chrysler lebaron

Question
I was wondering if you could help me find the body control module for a 1992 chrysler lebaron 4 door. i have a drain on my battery causing it to go dead if i leave it to long. my gm mechanic friend helped me narrow it down to the dome lights circuit and we tested everything but the module because we could not find it. No lights are staying on, we checked the switch now we just have to check the module when we can find it. it is drawing .1 or .01 milliamps i think .1 thu if i remember right. thank you for any info you can provide in advance.

Answer
Hi Jonas,
If you have the A-body Landau model, then there is no body control module in the '92 version of that car. I do find that there is a 2-wire "natural" color disconnect behind the battery that is called the "ignition off draw disconnector" which I believe is designed to allow you to remove the chronic low level current draw items when you are not going to drive it for awhile. The items that appear to be current drawing are the timer for the rear window defogger and the safety shut down relay for the automatic transmission, at least that is where the wires from that connector are routed. But at that defogger timer there is a branch off of the wire to the dome lamp circuit via fuse #2. So you might also just pull fuse #2 and kill most of the draw current.
The wires to the disconnect are black/red and red/white. So there may be nothing wrong with the car, you just need to shut down some of the low current devices that run even when the ignition is off when you are storing the car away.
