I have 1999 LHS chyrsler the speed sensors are bad and need to be changed were can i find were they go do you have a diagram or something to show me how to get to them so i can safe money?

Hi Tanya,
I don't have a scanner so I can't scan a picture to you, but I could xerox and postal mail you one. But let me describe where they are to you. If you look on the driver's side of the powertrain the transmission is the furthest back part of that unit. You will see a couple of hose couplings and lines above the box-like module on that side of the trans. Underneath those two couplings and above the lid of the "box" is where the input turbine speed sensor is located. It has a two wire connecter (dark blue/brown and light green violet) and if you lift the tab on the outside of the plug it will release and then you can get the appropriate size socket on it and unscrew. The output shaft sensor in at the same height but located to the rear of the upright shaft that is connected by a cable to the gear shift lever (e.g. this is the shift lever "tower"). Just to the rear of that tower is a similar looking device as the front one, with a two wire connector (dark blue/brown and orange/yellow) which when removed allows you to unscrew the old sensor. Watch for any rubber weather seals that either come off with the sensor or remain at the hole from which you remove the sensor to make sure that it is there on the new unit when you replace it. The torque spec for both sensors is 20 foot pounds, about the same as a spark plug.
So let me know if you can't find these two sensors and give me a postal mailing address and I'll send you the drawing.
This is a pretty straightforward job once you get to the area, but I am not sure if you can get there from above or whether you have to raise, support on jack stands, and get under the car to get to it. I suspect is could be done in a half hour by someone who knows those cars, or who reads this description.

Answer
Hi Tanya,
I'll copy and send you the drawings tomorrow. You are welcome.
No, the trans doesn't have to be pulled.  The sensors are on the outside of the trans on the driver's side of it. I just can't describe how to get to them. If you can't see the side of the trans by looking in from under the hood (standing on the driver's side and looking for the trans which is located behind the engine { toward the rear of the car}), then you will have to jack up the left side of the car and support it on a jack stand, slide under it and try to see the side of the trans from that location.
