Question -
Where is the oil sensor in a 1998 Chrysler Cirrus LX
Answer -
Hi Pat,
Which engine?
The 2.5 V-6 is located above the oil filter housing
The 2.0 and 2.4 is located on the firewall side of the engine, below the exhaust manifold, near the #2 cylinder port of the engine. It will have a gray/violet wire.
How do you change it?  Is it hard?

Answer
Quite easy:
Remove the wire connector from the tip of the sensor (perhaps lift retaining tab slightly to release grip).
Unscrew the sensor using a box end metric wrench of the proper size. Screw in new sensor and tighten firmly but with care not to strip threads or crack hole in block. Reattach wire connector. Turn ignition to run position to verify light on dash illuminates. Start engine to verify light goes out. Inspect sensor thread area for presence of any oil leakage, tighten if necessary to stop leakage.
