hi again i recently clean the calpier slides  and replace the anti rattel clips and it still make that nosic like old bed spring when i step on the pedal also the brake pads have a cupble of mieage on them hope you can tell me what this comeing from thank you tim

Hi Tim,
Did you get my response a couple of days ago:
"You haven't mentioned what brand and model of car you are dealing with so let me know what that it is, please. For example, there are definitely brake shoe return springs used in drum type brakes, so if the rear axle of the car uses drum brakes those heavy duty springs could very well be
the source of the noise. I would have a helper operate the brake pedal while you listen carefully at each of the four wheels to hear if you can locate which brake unit(s) is/are making the noise.
The air pump used for pollution reduction went out with the onset of the fuel injection/engine computer systems which arere sophisticated and canery the timing/mixture to achieve pollution reduction without a pump. They use O2 sensors.
Again, whether that is the case with your car depends upon its year. So let me know that and maybe we can determine what it is supposed to have on it for pollution mitigation."
That is my best effort in giving you a hand with your problem.
Let me know if you find the answer to it.

Tim,
You probably have drum brakes on the rear wheels so because that is the only type of brake that has springs in it to return the shoes to their resting position I suspect that the rear wheel brake springs may be causing the noise. Have a friend help you by steping on the pedal while you listen at each of the four wheels. If you can hear it in the car you should be able to hear it by putting your ear near each of the wheels and listening carefully. Then you will know which wheel's brakes are making the noise and inspect it.

the noise in front caliper like i said i change the anti rattle clips and
and cleaned the slideing caliper still the same nosie can it be the caliper it self or the piston thank you tim
Answer -
Hi Tim,
The caliper pistons are moving parts so of course if the wall of the cylinder or the piston were corroded or scored that could make a noise. The main question is not the noise but is it stopping the wheel effectively and is it loosing any brake fluid? You could watch for signs of brake fluid on the inner sidewall of your tires or loss of fluid from the reservoir as an indication that you have a leaky caliper or wheel cylinder and act accordingly. I would not just go by sounds. Do the brakes pull evenly, is there a sign of spontaneous heating up of the wheel rim on one side or the other? Those would be clues that you have a problem with a caliper that is leaky, binding or dragging. So check for fluid, brake performance, or unever heating of the wheels between the left side and the right side of the car. If you find any of that, then either rebuild the caliper or get a rebuilt one and install it.

there are no sigins of leaks and the brakes work fine

anther question when i start car in the monring or shut it down for a hour or so the start it again it make a taping nosie and it haves been doning this sence i brought it brand new can you tell if this can be fix i hear a lot of other cars make same nosie  tim

Answer
Hi tim,
The noise is probably a valve lifter that takes a little longer to get pumped up by the oil pressure. It is not a problem so long as it goes away after a short time. You might reduce the time or eliminate it by increase the density grade of the motor oil you are using one step, to 10W-30 or 15W-40.
The only other spring sound I can think of is the spring that returns the brake pedal to the fully release position. So look/listen under the dash to find that spring which is attacted to the pedal lever arm. It could be rubbing on something.
