Chrysler Repair: weird coolant loss, coolant loss, dodge caravan

Question
1993 dodge caravan 3.0 leaking antifreeze from rear of engine.  Not the coolant tube that runs under the intake i have already changed that.  it is not wet inside the bell housing either i have had the inspection plate off.  Is there freeze plugs in the back of the block i cannot seem to find anyone who can tell me or am i missing something else?

Answer
Hi Paul,
I don't have direct experience with the 3.0L block, but that area would be unusual to have a freeze plug. Except for the pipe that you have changed, about all I can suggest is the possibility of a water leak in one of the head gaskets that is draining into the area near the pipe and draining back to the rear of the block. You might try loosening the head(s) bolts a bit and then retorqueing them all to spec and see if that stop the dripping. I have had success in stopping leaks that way in the past with other engines that had aluminum head/block.
Let me know what you find that is the cause and its cure.
Thanks,
Roland
