Chrysler Repair: Sebring Power Door Locks, power door locks, chrysler sebring

Question
I have a 1995 Chrysler Sebring.  The power door locks continue to blow fuses.  When I put a new fuse in, they still do not work, they move a little, then it seems like something is stopping them (both of them!).  After you try the switch a few times, it blows another fuse...Any Ideas?
Thanks for your time, Andrew

Answer
Hi Andrew,
I am sorry to be slow in replying, but my computer's hard drive crashed yesterday. I can only be reached via my email, rfinston@pacbell.net so communicate to me that way, please.
On the door locks, I would check that the lock mechanisms are both moving freely by accessing if possible near the mechanism with some penetrating oil, sparycan and a long straw. Then if freeing that up doesn't work, I believe you will need to check the lock control switches and electrically measuring whether either of the diodes (one per actuation switch) which are a part of switch is shorted (compare one switch against the other). If those seem o.k. then you will probably need to remove a door panel and check the wiring to the electromechanical solenoid that is connected to the switch in each door to see if you can find a short to ground.
I am limited  by not having a Sebring but rather a '96 Cirrus shop manual, but I suspect the systems are identical.
So let me know what you find. Also I notice there are several fuses for the system, and if you can tell me size and the label of the fuse that blows that would help identify which part of the circuit is causing the problem.
