Chrysler Repair: lack of power, vacuum line, logic module

Question
My '87 Lebaron 2.2 Turbo convertible does not have
any power from low speeds yet when I do get it up to
45/55 it responds ok.
The code 37 comes up when the search the codes and that is the only code, which is the
soleniod .  Info that I have found says that it is
the baro-read solenoid circuit is open or shorted.

Also it sad check wiring/connections between logic module and solenoid.

My question is that it says these solenoids are on the right front bumper but it doe not tell me which one it is and there are three. Is it the closest to the fire wall or the one in the middle
or the closest to the front of the car.

Thanks

Robin

Answer
Hi Robin,
The baro read solenoid is actually assoicated with the MAP sensor mounted on the right strut tower (front). It's purpose is to occasionally measure the ambient baro pressure so it is merely an electrically controlled valve in the vacuum line from the mainfold to the MAP that when stimulated electrically opens the vacuum line to look at the "outside world". So follow the vacuum line right next to the MAP and you'll find the solenoid. It has a light blue contol wire whose other end is at the logic module in the cabin on the right cowl (to the right of the passenger's shin) at pin 15 of the red connector there, and a dark blue wire that supplies voltage to the solenoid (which should also be found on the two solenoids mounted on the inner fender nearby, same dark blue wire should have 12V on it when the ignition switch is turned to the 'run' position). So verify that the pin 15 is connected to the light blue at the baro plug, and that there is 12V on the dark blue pin of that same plug when you have the ignition on 'run' position. Also check for contiuity between the two pins of the solenoid proper to verify that it is 'open'.
