Chrysler Repair: 1990 Chrysler Lebaron car radio, 1990 chrysler lebaron, chrysler lebaron

Question
I have an old car radio that I'd like to put in my shop while I'm working. However, the wiring color code makes no sense to me.
Would you kmow the color code for an original Chrysler 1990 LeBaron convertible car radio?
Thanks.

Answer
Hi Tom,
On the gray plug:
the pink wire is for 12v all the time to maintain the station preselects and clock
the red/black is 12v on the ignition switch to turn on the radio
the orange/white is a variable voltage (0-12) for dial brightness when headlamps are on
the pink yellow is 0V to say that the brighness is for no headlamps in use, or 12V to say headlamps are in use and allow the orange/white to set the brightness of the dial illumination
the remaining two are for speakers:
dark blue /red:right door return
brown/red:left door return
And on the black plug:
dark blue/ orange: right rear return
brown/light blue: left rear return
violet:right door feed
dark green:left door feed
dark blue/white:right rear feed
brown/yellow:left rear feed
black:power antenna feed

This is pretty much the stock wiring for Chrysler radios.
