I have a 1989 Plymoth Sundance w/turbo, 2.2L. My car won't start, fuel pump runs for a very short time, it's almost full of gas, could it be a filter, sensor, or fuel pump itself? It started to run rough for a day, then just bogged down and quit. I was told it could have vapor locked also.
Roland,
you are right about it being a 2.2L Turbo. The only code that came up was 55. Then I disconnected the neg battery terminal for awhile, then I got 12, 55 codes. I am going to give it a Tune up next. What is an ATI and its purpose? Thanks Kandy.

Answer
Hi Kandy,
I had an idea about the ATI. Maybe you meant IAT (intake air temperature)sensor, term used on the mid to late '90's cars. On the '80's 2.2 turbo that is actually called the Charge Temperature Sensor and its purpose is to improve the starting mixture when the engine is warmed up.
Let me know if you have a code 23 because that is the one that says the CT sensor is outside its voltage limits.
