Chrysler Repair: tramsmission, chrysler lebaron, code numbers

Question
have asked about the 92 chrysler lebaron. had the mechanic do the codes. drove good for a few days. now its back to the same thing. jerking when going into 3rd gear and when down shifting. now it surges when we are driving it and jumps down into 1st gear. can you please give me more advise? its still jerking when goin into  3rd or down shifting

Answer
Hi Rose,
The problem I have in making specific recommendations is that there are so many possible reasons for the problem. When the mechanic read the codes did you ask for the code numbers that were revealed to him? That is what I need to give you any advice. What did the mechanic do other than read the codes? Did he write the code numbers on the receipt for the work he did? I wish I could give you something useful but until you can give me some answers to the above questions anything that I offer will not be of much use. The complexity of these units means that the diagnostic codes have to be known before you can decide what might be done. You can waste a lot of money on repair efforts that aren't wisely evaluated first.
