Chrysler Repair: 2.2 turbo hoses, diameter hose, discharge side

Question
1984 New Yorker 2.2 turbo. Which side of the compressor of the turbo does the 2" diameter hose with the plastic insert go to... the air inlet side (between the turbo and throttle body) or the air discharge side (between the turbo and the intake manifold)?

Answer
Hi Brian,
The '85 shop manual doesn't show the two hoses in any detail, but in the written instructions it says that the discharge hose has 3 bands (the center band retains the deswirler, and which band is not to be removed) whereas there is no mention of a 3rd band on the inlet hose. The deswirler looks like an X in the hose through which the air passes. So I hope on that basis you can figure out which hose you are dealing with.
Because I am not familiar with the turbo unit engines, this is the best I can offer you.
