Chrysler Repair: Engine noise after storage (6 months), oil pressure gauge, valve tappets

Question
1995 lebaron convertable/3.0 engine.

I had changed water pump, sparks plugs, ignition wires, and all belts.

I started it up after storage and I now have a noise from both rocker box covers. It sound like a diesel engine.

Answer
Assuming the engine oil level is not too high or too low, then probably the oil pressure in each of the valve tappets (automatic valve lash adjusters) has dropped down or to 0 as time passed and now you need to run the engine at low rpm for the pressures to rebuild. After the engine warms at idle, turn it off and let it sit a few minutes, run it again for a while, turn it off and let it sit, etc. doing for an hour, and see if the noises disappear. If there is still a little noise then drive the car at moderate speeds for a while. If that still doesn't clear the noise, I would put in a can of engine cleaner/solvent (if necessary remove sufficient oil so you don't overfill the crankcase) and run the engine as directed on the can, drain the oil, and refill with recommended grade of oil (10W-30 for summer).
Let me know how this works out. If it seems to be intractable, it may be that the oil pump is not doing its job. So just in case watch the oil pressure (gauge or light, as provided) during the warm up/shut down phase and stop everything if the warning light stays on all the time or the oil gauge doesn't budge off 0.
