Chrysler Repair: heater only works on high setting, haynes manual, motor speeds

Question
I have read other posts with the same problem. The heater blower motor only works on the high setting. Do you know the location of the resistor bank on a 2001 town and country?

Answer
Hi Dan,
You have identified the trouble, no doubt, but unfortunately I am not "expert" as to the location of parts in the van line of vehicles. I only have the wiring diagrams for the '91 vans, so what might have happened in the intervening 10 years is beyond me. In that diagram there is no mention of a distant location for the block, so I suspect it is on the unit proper. Maybe a Haynes manual will show it; have you checked a local library for a van manual?
It may very well be located in the heater unit housing proper (as in the mid 90's car lines). So take a look under the dash for the blower motor and its wiring. The black/tan lead from the motor splits at a splice and one branch goes to the control panel switch that determines the motor speeds and the other branch goes to the resistor block. So if you can find the black tan wires you can trace one of them to the resistor block. I suspect it is not far removed from the heater unit.
Sorry I can't give you anything more than this. Please let me know where it is when you find it!
